OneSky is at a pivotal moment in developing our programs in Mongolia. The External Relations and Partnership Director is responsible for overseeing and implementing the organization’s external communication strategies, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, fundraising, and advancing public policy initiatives that align with the organization’s mission. This position supports the Mongolia Country Director, and the Global Communication, Partnerships and Development teams to maintain and build relationships. This role is a critical liaison between the organization and external entities, including funding partners, government agencies, community organizations, and the media. Main Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive external affairs strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals and enhances its public image. Policy Advocacy: Monitor local, state, and city legislation affecting the organization and advocate for policies that support its mission. Provide oral and written testimony during legislative sessions as needed. Partnership Fundraising and Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with, individuals, corporates, prospective donors, and community leaders to promote collaboration and support for the organization’s initiatives. Communications Oversight: Work closely with the Chief Communications Officer and Global Communications team, directing all aspects of internal and external communications, including public relations campaigns, media relations, and crisis communication strategies. Event Management: Work closely with the Partnerships team to plan and deliver exceptional events and engagement opportunities to promote the organization’s mission and engage community stakeholders and potential funders. Research and Analysis: Conduct research to support advocacy positions and prepare recommendations for organizational strategies based on emerging trends in public policy.
